Two in hospital after track crash
Two people were taken to hospital after a major crash at Castle Combe motor racing circuit.
The 1.85-mile racing track near Chippenham was hosting its Forge Action Day on Saturday, an event in which performance cars of all types compete in track sessions.
A video shared from the track session shows the dramatic moment one of the cars swerved before flipping over several times.
It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash, but two people were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Forge Motorsport shared a message of support after the incident. It said: “Massive well done to the marshals, medical, and rescue team that handled the situation professionally and ensured the best possible safety of the individuals involved. We wish them a speedy recovery.”
It comes after driver Charles Knill-jones was injured in a serious crash during a race at the Castle Combe Racing Club’s Bank Holiday Monday meeting.
