Dozens of acts join festival’s return

-

The Priston Music Festival is back for its 13th year after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

A line-up of 36 acts will perform over the weekend of September 16 to 18. Gigs will be spread over two specially built stages, as well as in the village hall, the Ring O’ Bells pub, and the church.

The eclectic mix of music ranges from pop and rock, to folk and classical. The programme also includes a children’s art workshop, Storyworld tent and Planet Puppets performances.

On the Sunday, there will be community singing and folk music and dance workshops, as well as a display of dancing by five Morris sides. There will also be bars, food, cream teas and other stalls.

Parking at the village near Bath (BA2 9EE) costs £5 for the day (lift sharing is greatly encouraged) but the main festival is free entry.

The opening night village hall gig, and the closing night village hall supper, are ticketed. For details go to: www.priston.org.uk/festival

This year, to help village good causes and the bands, after the recent difficult pandemic years, donation boxes will be in place on the village green. Contact Owain on 07871 572969 or pristonfestival@googlemail. com for more information.
