Card offers free entry to attractions

-

Residents of Bath and North East Somerset are being asked to renew their Discovery Cards to give them free access to facilities across the city and unitary authority.

Bath’s MP Wera Hobhouse and leader of Bath and North East Somerset Council Cllr Kevin Guy have praised the Discovery Cards that allow local residents to access council-owned attractions.

“This scheme is a fantastic example of how Bath and North East Somerset Council is improving the lives of local people,” said Ms Hobhouse. “It’s great to see the council leading the way and giving local people the opportunity to get stuck into Bath’s rich history.”

During a visit to the Roman Baths, Ms Hobhouse and Cllr Guy signed up to receive their cards.

The cards gives local residents access to attractions, including the Roman Baths, Fashion Museum, Parade Gardens and Victoria Art Gallery, as well as discounts with local attractions and businesses.

Residents can register either a digital ecard which can be displayed on a mobile device or a physical card made from recyclable plastic.

Locations where the card can be validated include the Roman Baths, the housing, welfare and advice service next to the new police station, Keynsham library, and Midsomer

Norton library and information service.

Residents who have had a Discovery Card in the past are asked to register for their new one by applying through the council’s website.

When ordering the card, you will need to register for an appointment so the card can be validated at one of the council’s collection locations. A member of staff will check proof of ID and address and take a photo to go onto the card.

Those unable to book online can apply by calling Council Connect on 01225 394041 or apply in person at one of the council’s collection locations.
