Driven away by your labyrinth of roads

-

May I say this was the first time I have ever visited Bath and even with the satnav, your labyrinth of one-way systems, no entries and dead-end streets, made driving around the city for a non-local almost impossible.

Then for good measure your council decides to dig up the side and main roads at the height of tourist season to make it even more confusing. After leaving Bath, that evening I talked to a number of people local to the area and not one of them said they would visit Bath if they could possibly help it because of the terrible state of the road system.

I have driven in London on a daily basis for the past 30 years and have never got a ticket. I was in your city for less than six hours (only one hour of driving) and because of your hideously confusing roads, found myself in a bus lane. If the council does not want cars in the city, then it should pave the lot and send a solid message and not try to discourage drivers as seems to be the case now.

Bath is a beautiful city but it will be a cold day in hell before I visit again.
