‘People caught up in crisis and need our help’

-

Charity Citizens Advice Bath and North East Somerset says it has seen a huge spike in the number of people they are helping as a result of the cost of living crisis.

Data from the first eight months of 2022 compared to the same period last year, shows they are helping more than double the number of people with serious financial problems, and people are struggling in every ward in the B&NES area.

CEO Simon Lawson said: “Our data reveals a worrying situation and that is before the energy price cap increases in October.

“It’s vital that we get all the support we can as quickly as possible so we can give aid to those who need it.”

The charity is urgently seeking to recruit more volunteers to help deal with the crisis. Anyone interested in volunteering can check the website (www.citizensadvicebanes. org.uk) to see what roles are available and what is needed for each of the roles.
