Date set for return of the Christmas market

The start date of Bath Christmas Market 2022 has been confirmed.

After a two-year hiatus during the Covid pandemic, the market will return this November and celebrate two decades since the event was launched.

In 2021, the event was originally meant to take place for a longer period than usual, to give businesses a boost after lockdown.

However, in September last year news broke that the market would have to be “scaled back” due to a lack of security staff.

Most of the stalls were moved online but an artisan market was allowed to remain in Queen Square and some stall holders had pitches near Bath Abbey.

This year’s event will run from Thursday, November 24 until Sunday, December 11 - a total of 17 nights. This is eight fewer than the extended market that was promised last year.
