Enjoy taste of Hawaii in city

-

A new cafe serving Hawaiian poke bowls could be coming to Bath city centre.

Island Poke launched on Soho’s Kingly Street in 2016, after its founder James Porter, discovered that London was missing the fresh, healthy lunch options of California and Hawaii.

So he quit his job at a local art gallery and started selling his pots of fish, meat, fruit and vegetables at a street market.

The concept took off and over the past five years Porter has expanded his business - even opening an Island Poke cafe in France. Now, he has set his sights on 4 Burton Street in Bath.

Island Poke has applied to B&NES Council for permission to rebrand the old West Cornwall Food shop.

The frontage would be painted in Farrow and Ball heritage colour St Giles Blue, with the word “Island Poke” and the brand’s logo.
