The 1.6-mile Silverstone National Circuit was the venue for the penultimate round of this year’s BTCC and TOCA Championships, with local drivers in action.

In the main BTCC event, Josh Cook continued a good run of form in his Rich Energy BTC Racing Honda Civic Type R. With three races over the weekend, he finished 13th, eighth and sixth in the main championship, which will see him heading for the final round at Brands Hatch lying sixth in the title race. In the Independents Trophy, he finished third, second and first, which secures him first place overall going into the last round.

In the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship, both local drivers – Oliver White in his Duckhams Yuasa Racing with Redline Porsche 911GT3 cup car, and Will Aspin – were in action. White, in the Pro Class, finished 13th in race one, ninth in class, and he recorded an DNF in race two. This leaves him in 11th position ahead of the final round this weekend at Brands Hatch. As for Will in the pro Am class, he scored points in both races, finishing 16th and ninth overall, which leaves him fifth overall in the Pro Am title race and third overall in the Rookie Championship in his Team Parker Racing car.
