New charity partnership for club

Somerset County Cricket Club are pleased to be able to announce a new community partnership with Young Somerset.

Young Somerset is the largest youth work charity in Somerset. Its aim is to work with young people and encourage them to take responsibility for themselves. They seek to achieve this by focusing on three specific areas: Targeted Youth Support; Alternative Education Provision and Enterprise; Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Support and Therapy.

Somerset County Cricket Club, in conjunction with Somerset Cricket Foundation will be working with Young Somerset in order to help the charity support young people in a range of social, economic, educational and recreational opportunities. Part of this initiative will see Somerset 2023 Members receive a 10% discount in Young Somerset’s Bold & Brave shop at Riverside Place in Taunton’s Independent Quarter.

Nik Harwood, Chief Executive of Young Somerset said: “We know the value of collaboration at Young Somerset and we are keen to work together to develop new and innovative initiatives.”

Spencer Bishop, SCCC Media and Community Executive added: “There are a number of avenues that we are looking to explore within this initiative.”
