We pedestrians need greater protection
On Sunday morning I noticed 3 cyclists riding along the pavement at Sydney Place when all the roads were closed to traffic.
It seems some cyclists are programmed to do this. Do they not know that it is breaking the law?
The law is there to protect vulnerable pedestrians, but we are left feeling bottom of the list, always on the lookout for bikes (no
bells), scooters, and skateboarders, often travelling at high speed along the pavements.
It is not uncommon for me to speak to at least 2 of these people every day in the city centre, when I often have a rude response.
The police need to do a lot more to protect us. As they rightly say it’s all about ‘education’ Julie Trollope
