1 the inbetweene­rs Movie saturday, Channel 4, 11.30pm

Posh boy Will (Simon Bird) and his friends Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay

(James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison) are now 18 and can escape their school headmaster Mr Gilbert (Greg Davies) forever. Determined to enjoy one last hurrah before university, they head off on a holiday to Crete, where the hormonally charged young men meet Alison (Laura Haddock), Jane (Lydia Rose Bewley), Lisa (Jessica Knappett) and Lucy (Tamla Kari), sparking romance under the Mediterran­ean sun. Writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are in fine, potty-mouthed form for this big-screen outing of the comedy series.

2 Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-rabbit sunday, BBC1, 2.05pm

Plucky everyman Wallace (voiced by Peter Sallis) and pet pooch Gromit (pictured) pay tribute to classic Universal horror movies in their own inimitable style in this rollicking big-screen debut. They battle a giant marauding bunny and wigged villain Victor Quartermai­ne (Ralph Fiennes).

3 Coraline Monday, BBC3, 7pm

Coraline (voiced by Dakota Fanning), left, feels neglected by her busy parents after moving to a new town. The youngster finds a door leading to an alternativ­e world where people have buttons for eyes and her parents are more caring. ‘Other Mother’ (Teri Hatcher) asks Coraline to stay, but life there may be much darker than she thought.

4 the Babadook tuesday, BBC2, 12.15am

Care home worker Amelia (Essie Davis) is haunted by memories of her dead husband. To add to her stress, her young son Samuel (Noah Wiseman, left with Davis) claims there are monsters in his room, including a hideously gnarled spectre called The Babadook. After ignoring his pleas, Amelia’s mental state slowly unravels.

5 die hard With a Vengeance Wednesday, 5star, 10pm

In this action sequel, cop John Mcclane (Bruce Willis, left) returns to duty following an explosion at a New York department store. The perpetrato­r, Simon (Jeremy Irons), tells police that unless Mcclane and bystander Zeus Carver (Samuel L Jackson), carry out a series of instructio­ns, more bombs will be detonated across the city.

6 don’t look now thursday, BBC4, 12am

Based on a Daphne du Maurier short story, this horror focuses on John and Laura Baxter (Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, left) who, after the tragic drowning of their daughter, travel to Venice. They meet a psychic (Hilary Mason) who claims the child is trying to contact them. John’s sceptical – until bizarre events force him to think again.

7 american Psycho friday, film4, 11.05pm

Christian Bale is on terrific, deadpan form in this adaption of Bret Easton Ellis’s controvers­ial novel, directed by Mary Harron. Patrick Bateman (Bale, left) is a financier in 1980s New York, who is determined to project the right image. However, behind his smooth, successful surface he’s struggling to hide his psychopath­ic ego.
