Oyster up for top chippy award

-

A Bath chippy has been named as a finalist in the top 20 takeaways of the year, in the National Fish and Chip Awards.

The Oyster Shell chip shop in Moorland Road, Oldfield Park, has been shortlisted, putting it in with a chance of taking the 2023 trophy.

The Fish and Chip shop boasts that it uses the finest Scottish lan- goustine tails in the scampi, beautiful day boat hake, locally sourced Cumberland sausages and chicken breasts from their neighbours, Banable Butchers on Moorland Road.

Oyster Shell chips are cut daily from the best seasonal spuds sourced by Mitchell Potatoes and everything else, from the Moroccan chickpea fritters to their cod and parsley fishcakes and sauces, is made in house.

The winner will be announced at the Awards, hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers, on February 28, 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

“We received such a high standard of applications this year, making it a very difficult process,” said Andrew Crook, President of the federation.

“Congratulations to everyone involved, this is a massive achievement!”
