Cast of family classic invite you on board

-

A classic family tale is being brought to life by the Rondo Theatre Company in Bath.

Set in the golden age of steam, E Nesbit’s much-loved The Railway Children has delighted generations of families since it first was published in 1906.

Mike Kenny’s faithful adaptation has played to critical acclaim at London’s Waterloo Station and the National Railway Museum in York.

Co-director Luke John Emmett said: “This is a truly enchanting adaptation of the story performed beautifully by our wonderful local cast. Everything that we’ve come to love about the story is there, our favourite characters and of course the railway. There is something for everyone in this version.”

Co-director Alana Wright said: “It’s such a pleasure to bring this well-loved classic to the stage. Our cast are fantastic and the intimacy of the Rondo Theatre makes it the perfect venue.”

Some of the cast visited the Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton where they got to ride on the steam trains.

This production runs from Thursday to Saturday, November 24-26, 7.30pm, at the Rondo Theatre in St Saviours Road in Bath. Tickets are available from the Rondo Theatre website - www.rondotheatre.co.uk.
