Sad to hear club can redevelop riverside
I read the article about Bath Rugby’s joy at winning the court case re the Recreation Ground and was saddened that it will go ahead with the redevelopment of the area.
The chief executive talked about the proposals for the new stadium and “the regeneration of the riverside.” Why does the riverside need regeneration?
It has been, for all the years I have lived in Bath, a peaceful place to walk and sit under the magnificient trees, (which are such an important part of urban life) and watch the river, away from the city centre crowded with bars and cafes - nowadays spilling onto pavements.
Please give a thought to the many city residents and visitors who appreciate a quiet place - it is good for our wellbeing.
