Success at rising stars event
On the weekend before the October half-term, over 70 boys from gymnastics clubs across the South West came together to compete at Baskervilles Gymnastics Club’s Boys’ Autumn Rising Stars Competition.
The gymnasts performed across four pieces of apparatus: floor, vault, trampette and bar.
The competition was made up of ten categories with boys aged between 6-15 years-old.
Medals were won by gymnasts who placed top in the top three, both overall and on each apparatus, as well as overall fourth-sixth finishers winning a ribbon.
The Baskervilles gymnasts had a strong performance all round, with medals won in all categories represented by the club.
Some notable achievements included Milo Fletcher winning four golds (three apparatus and overall) for the under-11 category and Thomas Coles winning a medal on every apparatus in the over-11 category.
Collectively, Baskervilles’ gymnasts won a whopping 55 medals over the course of the day.
Competition organiser and managing director of Baskervilles Gymnastics, Paul Baskerville, said: “It was so lovely to see such a wide spread of medals won by a number of clubs across the South West.
“We are already looking forward to our next event taking place in spring.”
Baskervilles thanked all of the coaches and judges who made the day such a huge success, and offered their congratulations to all of the gymnasts who prepared for and took part in the event.
