Choir celebrates landmark year in ‘sassy’ style

A popular Bath ladies’ choir is celebratin­g its 10th anniversar­y and looking forward to Christmas.

Sassparell­a is renowned for great singing, some cool choreograp­hy and a wide repertoire of popular music – all delivered with its trademark sparkle and ‘sassy’ spirit.

The choir’s musical directors, singer songwriter Cindy Stratton and musician Marius Frank, said: “They are just the loveliest group of women and it’s amazing how well we have held together and gone from strength to strength over the past 10 years.

“We have built up quite a following and perform in and around Bath and beyond.”

The choir is celebratin­g its 10th anniversar­y with a series of events.

After two years of singing on Zoom and in local parks during lockdown, Sassparell­a kicked off the 2021/22 season with Christmas performanc­es at Westonbirt Arboretum and Widcombe Social Club.

house at a gala charity concert to raise funds for Ukraine Humanitari­an Charities. They performed alongside the Magnificen­t AKS male choir.

This Christmas, Sassparell­a will be entertaini­ng shoppers on Milsom Street at the Bath Christmas Market between noon and 1pm on Saturday, December 3.

But the highlight of this year will be its own Celebratio­n Concert at

St Margaret’s Hall in Bradford-upon-avon on Saturday, December 10 when they will be performing alongside the Bristolbas­ed all female big band, the Sisters of Swing.
