Christmas market a European hit

The Bath Christmas Market has been found to be the third most popular in Europe on the basis of Instagram tags.

Nearly 30,000 posts on the social media site have used the hashtag #bathchristmasmarket, placing it above the likes of London, Helsinki and Brussels.

UK markets claimed the top three places in the list compiled by Casinotop10.net, with Manchester taking the top spot with 54,337 tags, followed by Edinburgh with 44,360.

Bath was next on 29,324, with Reims, France, coming in fourth with 28,188.

The Bath Christmas Market celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and will run for 17 nights from November 24 until December 11.

Stall holders are looking forward to a return of the full size market after last year’s had to be ‘scaled back’ due to a lack of security staff, caused by Brexit and Covid
