Where you can join services to honour fallen
People wishing to pay their respects are being reminded about events taking place across Bath and North East Somerset to commemorate Remembrance Day on November 11 and Remembrance Sunday on November 13.
Councillor Shaun Stephensonmcgall, chair of Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “We will never forget the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our rights and our freedoms.
“It’s important that on Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday this year, as every year, we show our continuing gratitude to those who fought valiantly to serve others. It will be a time for us all to reflect and show our respect.”
Councillor Mcgall and council leader Councillor Kevin Guy will both lay wreaths on the Poppies to Paddington train on November 11.
The event is organised by the Veterans Charity and Great Western Railway and symbolises the long journey made by soldiers on their way to war.
Councillor Mcgall will also lay a wreath at the Timsbury Remembrance Sunday Service on November 13.
