5 deadpool 2 Wednesday, Film4, 9pm
In this gleefully irreverent and potty mouthed sequel, former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is assembling a team of mutant rogues to protect a boy with supernatural abilities. He creates the X-force, a team of super-powered people and an alternative to the X-men.

Bill Randa (John Goodman) spearheads a government expedition to a Pacific island, searching for unidentified organisms. However, their sonic weapons rouse a 100ft ape and their best-laid plans are smashed. It’s an enjoyable enough way to pass a couple of hours – just don’t expect it to live up to the 1933 original.
