Film highlights climate and cost of living crises
A documentary about the energy and cost-of-living crises will be shown by an environmental organisation in Bath next week.
Greenpeace Bath will be screening the 15-minute documentary “The Cost Of Living” which tells the story of volunteers in foodbanks and community centres across Rother Valley, England. It will be followed by a panel discussion.
The team has invited expert speakers for the panel including Sarah Warren, B&NES cabinet member for climate and sustainable travel; Danny Gross, campaign officer from Friends of the Earth; Alex Lockton, a coordinator, Bath and West Community Energy; Rakesh Menon from Foodcycle. The panel will be hosted by Greenpeace member John Leach.
The film highlights the impact that the cost of living crisis brought on by the leap in energy prices has had on the Rother Valley communities.
It is argued that both the cost of living and climate crises can be solved by investing in renewable energy, properly insulating homes and providing people with the skills and training needed to deliver this green energy revolution.
The event will take place at Chapel Arts on Tuesday, November 22 from 7-10pm and the film starts at 7.30pm.
