Doctor’s Note
Eating even small amounts of fish can boost our brain health and help us think more clearly.
The omega-3 fatty acids in fish like salmon, cod, tuna and sardines have been shown to improve brain structure and cognitive function.
A study by The University of Texas Health Science Centre studied 2,183 dementia and stroke-free people in their forties and fifties.
The more omega-3s people had in their blood, the better their brain function, but even eating small amounts lead to a healthier brain. Researchers believe the fatty acids help protect the membrane which surrounds the nerve cells in our brains from damage.
