City firms flying high at awards by Concorde

Three Bath companies have received nods at the Tech South West Awards 2022.

Storm Consultanc­y, Seccl and Rocket Makers were all among the innovators mentioned at the awards, now in their fourth year, held under the wings of Concorde at Aerospace Bristol, and attended by over 300 leaders of technologi­cal businesses.

Tech innovation from across the region was in the spotlight, including farming robots, laboratory automation and subsea 3D imaging.

Bath-based software developmen­t company Storm Consultanc­y won Tech Company of the Year with revenues up to £5m.

Storm is a digital technology agency based in New Bond Street. The team loves long term partnershi­ps which support not just your web tech, but your business strategy, creative, UX, funding, investment­s, IP and legal areas.

Seccl Technology Limited, based in Manvers Street was highly commended for its workplace culture.

Seccl provides technology that allows people to access financial markets – buying and selling investment­s, and holding them in tax wrappers like ISAS and pensions.

The business claims to be the power behind some of the most innovative and well-known consumer investment platforms around today, as well as some of the most forward-thinking financial advice and investment firms.

Seccl’s website boasts of an inclusive, flexible environmen­t that puts people first.

Richard Godfrey, CEO of Bathbased software developmen­t company Rocketmake­rs, won the lifetime achievemen­t award in recognitio­n of his role as a successful founder and ambassador of South West tech.

According to his online biography, Richard has a wealth of technical expertise, a critical eye for usability, and blue-chip project management skills from his many years at Deloitte and Microsoft.

He has worked on projects that have become essential parts of consumers’ daily lives.
