World would stop without oil and gas

-

I have noticed over the past few weeks that members of the far left extremist organisation Extinction Rebellion have been given space in the Chronicle to harangue individuals and organisations on their use of oil and gas.

They continue to spout their dogmatic ideology as though it is a religious text, they allow no opposing arguments and attempt to cancel anyone who disagrees with them.

There is no climate emergency, the world is not on fire or drowning but we could and should make better use of the resources that are available to us.

Oil and gas are natural resources that not only power the world but also provide the materials by which vital day to day objects and infrastructure are made and rely on to continue to operate.

Materials that without the use of the world would literally stop.

My fuel bills have gone through the roof because we have stopped using the natural resources that this country is floating on.

Instead, because of the Green lobby, we have closed most of the proper power stations and have to rely on windmills and fields of mirrors that cannot and will not provide the energy this country needs 24 hours a day every day.

I know of two very vocal and active individuals in this organisation who are very loud in their condemnation of others for the continued

use of oil and gas; who have 2 motor vehicles parked outside their house.

One of the vehicles is a gas guzzling camper van, whilst the other is used by the owner to drive the half mile from the house to their place of work, yes I did say drive the half mile to work!!

They might be taken more seriously if they were not just a bunch of middle class eco-hypocrites, who tell everyone else to wear a hair shirt whilst wearing silk themselves.
