Chippy in top 10 of UK awards

Bath chippy the Oyster Shell has made the shortlist for Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.

The Moorland Road outlet, below, made the top ten after a rigorous judging process, and is the only fish and chip shop in Somerset to do so.

The top ten takeaways from across the UK will now be judged further by an anonymous panel of industry experts to decide the winner.

Hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers, the awards ceremony will take place on February 28 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.

Andrew Crook, federation president, said: “It was a tricky job whittling down the top 20 to the top 10, but the chosen takeaways have demonstrated a clear reason as to why they are deserving of this accolade.”
