Investigation into headless skeleton begins
Forensic scientists are examining a headless skeleton in a Highland mausoleum in a bid to determine whether it is indeed that of 18th- century Jacobite sympathiser Simon Fraser, the 11th Lord Lovat (pictured left). The scientists, from Dundee University, hope to establish the gender and age of the skeleton as well as confirm whether it shows signs of decapitation. Fraser, who supported Bonnie Prince Charlie, was executed in 1747.
