Plans to erect a statue of Mar­garet Thatcher on Par­lia­ment Square have been re­jected by West­min­ster Coun­cil. How­ever, the square will soon have its first statue of a women when suf­frag­ist Millicent Fawcett (be­low) joins the 11 ex­ist­ing male fig­ures later this year.
