An early Bri­ton had dark skin

DNA ex­tracted from a 10,000-year- old skele­ton known as Ched­dar Man has re­vealed that he had dark brown or black skin and blue eyes – a com­bi­na­tion com­mon in western Europe at that time. The re­sults also sug­gest that Ched­dar Man was un­able to drink milk as an adult.
