Harold Bing

BBC History Magazine - - WWI Eyewitness Accounts -

A pacifist who joined the No-Conscription Fellowship in 1916, Harold was arrested as a conscientious objector before spending the rest of the war in prison.

Postwar he struggled to find work, as many job adverts barred conscientious objectors, but eventually found a fulfilling career as a teacher and lecturer. He retained an interest in peace campaigning until his death in 1975.
