Glamour and murder

-

The fall of the Gucci dynasty in the 1990s, which saw them leave their family fashion house, was a dark tale of financial problems, betrayal and murder. In director Ridley Scott’s second historical film of 2021 – after The Last Duel – that drama is brought to life, based on Sara Gay Forden’s book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed.

Lady Gaga leads the cast as the Italian socialite Patrizia Reggiani, who was tried for orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of Gucci, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver). The star-studded cast also includes Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and, as Aldo Gucci, chairman of Gucci from 1953–86, Al Palcino.
