Lichfield Festival
Jonathan Dove features prominently at this year’s Lichfield Festival, including a production of his opera Mansfield Park, the premiere of a new choral work given by Voces8 and a performance by young flautist Sirius Chau of his Magic Flute Dances. Cheltenham Music Festival
Soprano Lucy Crowe and pianist Anna Tilbrook will give the premiere of Dove’s Youth Gone as part of their ‘Female Portraits’ recital.

King’s Lynn Festival
Dove himself will be talking from the stage as his The Pied Piper, Music for a Lovelorn Lenanshee and Ludwig Games form the backbone of an recital given by clarinettist Sarah Thurlow, violinist Martin Gwilym Jones and pianist Michael Hampton. Town Hall, 17 July
BBC Proms
The world premiere of Dove’s new choral work, We Are One Fire, will be given by the BBC Symphony Chorus in a Prom conducted by Sakari Oramo that also includes Dieter Ammann’s Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.

London Piano Festival
Dove is composer-in-residence at this year’s celebration of the piano, and the festival directors Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva have commissioned him to write a new piece for two pianos for them to play. Kings Place, 2-6 October
