The 2019/20 season opens with a special Beethoven Festival Weekend, celebrating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, featuring ten concerts across two days
The festival weekend kicks off a season-long exploration of Beethoven’s timeless art, covering his instrumental and chamber works, performed by leading figures including James Ehnes, Jonathan Biss, the Belcea Quartet, Miklós Perényi and more.
Brahms is also in the Wigmore Hall spotlight this season, with a programme built around the Castalian String Quartet, and study events lead by musicologist
Katy Hamilton.
Benjamin Britten is a focus too, with nine concerts and related Learning events, and a Britten Gala to open the Season, showcasing the decisive influence that Wigmore Hall played in Britten’s development.
