Ce¯sis Concert Hall

The new Ce¯sis Concert Hall season features two annual music festivals – Cello Ce¯sis in September and the Pe¯teris Vasks Festival in April. The EFFE Award-winning Cello Ce¯ sis showcases superb 21st-century music. Special guests include Ashley Bathgate, Danjulo Ishizaka and young Latvian stars, the Balanas sisters. In April, composer Pe¯teris Vasks hosts his festival: as the programme’s curator, he is present at every concert. Chamber, symphonic, choral music and dance programmes feature scores by Vasks and like-minded fellowcomposers. And the season concludes with a recital by soprano Marina Rebeka in May, plus concerts by Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica in June.
