A pair of com­mon cranes fledged a chick in the Gwent Lev­els this year – the first to be born in Wales in 400 years. The adult birds orig­i­nate from the Great Crane Project’s rein­tro­duc­tion site in the Som­er­set Lev­els, where more than 90 in­di­vid­u­als were re­leased over four years.
