5 SLITHERING SUCCESS

After failing to find an Egyptian cobra in Morocco in June 2016, I returned to Sidi Ifni in October with more motivation and determination to succeed. On the last day of my trip, just minutes before I was ready to give up and head back to the airport, I spotted the species crossing a road. I took this photo of the stunning reptile by lying on the ground about 2m away, which created a nice depth of field. Ben Dalgleish, Staffordshire, UK
