A wildlife cat-astrophe

-

As I lover of wildlife, I wanted my garden to attract as many local species as possible, but unfortunately these can fall foul of our domestic animals!

When I put up my bird feeders I was delighted to see the colourful flashes of different birds competing for seed, so imagine my guilt when I found the carcass of a pied wagtail one morning.

It seemed that Stewie, our loveable playful kitten, had finally grown up and fulfilled his destiny. However, squirreled away in the depths of my shed was a solution – some stainless steel pipe left over from my plumbing days!

At nearly 12 feet high, the new bird feeders are now well out of Stewie’s reach. He sits underneath getting covered in bird droppings and seeds.

My advice to anyone with a similar problem is simple: just call a plumber! Mark Winson, via email
