WHEN TO GO

The only straight­for­ward way to visit the Com­man­der Is­lands is cur­rently as part of an ex­pe­di­tion cruise from May to Septem­ber. Most trips start or end at the port of Petropavlo­vsk on the Kam­chatka Penin­sula, some 8.5 hours’ flight from Moscow.
