Pangolin body parts are still ll used in traditional medicines across Africa and Asia, and falsely believed to have medicinal and aphrodisiac properties.

Pangolin scales are now trafficked to the USA because they contain Tramadol HCL, a material for synthesising the dangerously addictive illegal drug crystal methamphetamine.
