IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

-

Capturing a bird in fishing mode is a difficult task for any avian enthusiast, but I managed to take this image of a whiskered tern during a visit to Kole Wetlands in Kerala, India. Late December is peak birding season because the water is shallow with plenty of fish. There is a split second between the beak touching the surface and the fish being plucked from the water. I took this eye-level picture by sitting on the ground and using a high shutter speed. Linto John, Thrissur, India
