MOUSA’S MATES
Mousa is probably the best known of the orcas so far identified making the journey from Iceland to Scotland. She has at least two offspring, a six-year-old known as Summer and the latest addition to her pod, Tide, born in 2015. Two adult males, Hulk and Nótt, are often seen travelling with Mousa and her family since another female, possibly their mother, disappeared in 2014 (she is now presumed dead). The other migrants include three orcas seen in both Húsavík on Iceland’s north coast and off St Kilda to the west of the Outer Hebrides.
