Spring surprise
During the late morning on a sunny yet breezy day in early April, I was walking along the path by the Allen River in Wimborne, when I saw something basking in the sunshine that literally stopped me in my tracks! It was a grass snake – my first wild, live snake! Its olive-brown hue was its outstanding feature. After taking a few snaps with my camera (with the flash off), the reptile became defensive and I moved away. I had always wanted to see a wild snake, so I was one happy person that day!
