Advent Calendar

Obviously we’re not talking about Christmas yet, but one festive tradition we can justifiably mention at this point is the old chestnut of the advent calendar. If you think you can convince your children that they really don’t need a morsel of (often tasteless) chocolate to mark each passing December day, here’s a lovely traditional calendar designed exclusively for the Woodland Trust by Amanda Loverseed, where a green woodpecker, jay, tawny owl, badger and pair of red squirrels are among the motifs hiding behind each door. Count down to Christmas and help our trees at the same time.
