Playful dolphins
The waters surrounding Mikura-jima Island are a famous breeding ground for Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, and I wanted to try and photograph them. As they swim so fast, I had to use a very high shutter-speed, and combined that with a fisheye lens. I was delighted to spend time with them, especially when they came close and played. They were turning around me, and occasionally bringing bits of seaweed over. Reiko Takahasi, Iwate, Japan
