Spread across two con­trast­ing desert ecosys­tems – the high Mo­jave desert to the east and the low Colorado desert to the west – this Na­tional Park is home to a rich as­sort­ment of flora, in­clud­ing the other-worldly Joshua tree. The rugged land­scape is stud­ded with dra­matic rock for­ma­tions, scat­tered boul­ders and sun-baked scrub.
