25,000 acre es­tate, in­clud­ing 9,000 acres of na­tional na­ture re­serve – Eng­land’s largest. Holkham took over the run­ning of it in 2017. 50% of the es­tate’s income is de­rived from tourism. 28 pairs of spoon­bill ( left) live on the na­tional na­ture re­serve (2018). 30,000 over­win­ter­ing pink-footed geese – about a third of the to­tal pop­u­la­tion that mi­grate to East Anglia an­nu­ally.
