25,000 acre estate, including 9,000 acres of national nature reserve – England’s largest. Holkham took over the running of it in 2017. 50% of the estate’s income is derived from tourism. 28 pairs of spoonbill ( left) live on the national nature reserve (2018). 30,000 overwintering pink-footed geese – about a third of the total population that migrate to East Anglia annually.
