Out There with Jack Randall

MONDAYS UNTIL 21 OCTOBER, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WILD Join zoologist Jack on his mission across Australia, as he goes in search of snakes, kangaroos and crocodiles – and that’s just for starters. Encountering a variety of other creatures along the way, Jack’s enthusiasm and excitement at each discovery, large or small, is infectious, as he explains a bit about the biology and behaviour of his latest find. Though, at times, his zealous behaviour does seem to baffle some of his companions: “I think you’re crazy,” says python expert Gavin Bedford, as Jack takes off his boots so that he’s able to feel for the reptiles with his feet as the duo wade through water.

Jack encounters a wallaroo in Litchfield National Park.
