Leaf chameleon

MADAGASCAR

-

Another record-breaking little ’un is the 3cm-long leaf chameleon, Brookesia micra, the world’s smallest chameleon. This diminutive reptile is uncommon and the population is likely in decline due to habitat loss. It’s only known to live on Nosy Hara, an island at the northern end of Madagascar. They sleep at night on branches just a few inches above the ground in lowland, humid forest.
