BBC Earth Experience
The Daikan Centre, Earl’s Court, London,
Billed as London’s newest tourist attraction, the BBC Earth Experience is a fully immersive multimedia event. Boasting breathtaking footage from the BBC’s Seven Worlds, One Planet series, bespoke narration from David Attenborough and glorious music, this is an epic experience unlike any other natural history show.
The whole experience is based on the 2019 BBC One epic series, Seven Worlds, One Planet. That series broke new barriers in nature documentary making, with shoots taking place over 41 countries on every continent. From epic drone footage highlighting the magnificence of the natural world, to intimate sequences that take the viewer into an animal’s close circle, the series celebrated the diversity of life on Earth like never before.
And now, the latest high-quality technology uses giant, multi-angle screens to take you on your own journey though the continents. The idea is that you enter the space and then are free to roam wherever you choose as you explore the space.
Housed in the Daikin Centre, a purposebuilt venue in Earl’s Court, London, the experience is easily accessible by public transport (there’s no parking at the venue), and tickets can be bought in advance online at bbcearthexperience.com. It’s designed to be suitable for people of all ages, and there are interactive elements as well as breakout zones – micro life and water life.
This 360º audio visual journey should take around an hour, and its location means it could very easily be combined with a visit to the Natural History Museum, just a short bus ride away. Prices start at £22.
