ANTIBIOTICS IN LIVESTOCK

The widespread use of antibiotics in livestock is coming under scrutiny. Concerns are growing that the over-use of these drugs in intensive farming is creating resistant strains of bacteria that can become ‘superbugs’. The World Health Organisation has warned that this could mean even minor infections could become fatal in livestock and humans.
