ANTIBIOTIC­S IN LIVESTOCK

The widespread use of antibiotic­s in livestock is coming under scrutiny. Concerns are growing that the over-use of these drugs in intensive farming is creating resistant strains of bacteria that can become ‘superbugs’. The World Health Organisati­on has warned that this could mean even minor infections could become fatal in livestock and humans.
