£300k fil­lip for Bal­ly­mena busi­ness growth

THE Co Antrim town of Bal­ly­mena is to get an in­jec­tion of £300,000 over the next three years.

Bal­ly­mena Busi­ness Cen­tre, with the sup­port of a £183,000 award from the Gal­la­her Trust, is set to host a se­ries of ini­tia­tives in a bid to cham­pion the growth of lo­cal start-up com­pa­nies in the area.

The trust was set up by to­bacco gi­ant JTI Gal­la­her to bring a pos­i­tive legacy to the town af­ter it stopped pro­duc­tion there.

Bal­ly­mena Busi­ness Cen­tre’s first ini­tia­tive will be Global En­trepreneur­ship Week Bal­ly­mena 2018 from Novem­ber 12-17.

Based in Fairhill Shop­ping Cen­tre it will show­case in­spir­ing busi­ness start-ups and busi­ness sup­port or­gan­i­sa­tions of­fer­ing ad­vice and guid­ance.

Me­lanie Christie Boyle, chief ex­ec­u­tive of Bal­ly­mena Busi­ness Cen­tre, said: “We are very thank­ful to the Gal­la­her Trust for their in­vest­ment and sup­port. This in­vest­ment, along­side our se­ries of planned events, will go a long way in en­cour­ag­ing fur­ther growth in the com­mu­nity.”
